Maynard James Kennan is an American singer, songwriter, and actor well known as the frontman of the legendary progressive metal band, Tool. Their latest album, Fear Inccoculum, was released in 2019 almost 13 years after their last album 10,000 Days.
Besides Tool, the Grammy Award singer has also worked with A Perfect Circle and also founded the band Puscifer in 2003 as a side project and is also the owner of Mekin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars.

Before pursuing a career in music Maynard was enlisted in the United States Army. He dropped out of the army and performed with several other musicians like Tom Morello and Zach de la Rocha, who later formed the band Rage Against The Machine.
Maynard moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and met Adam Jones, whereupon they formed the band Tool. The original line up of the band included James on vocals, Adam on guitars, Danny Carey on drums and Paul D'Armour in the bass.
